Rate of vehicle offences per 1,000 people. Police recorded crime data are supplied to the Office for National Statistics (ONS) by the Home Office. Vehicle offences covers private and commercial vehicles and comprises of theft or unauthorised taking of a motor vehicle, aggravated vehicle taking, theft from a vehicle and interfering with a motor vehicle. The rate was calculated using the previous year’s population mid-year estimate. |
