Number of domestic Economy 7 electricity meters (thousands) | Local Authority | 2016

Title Total number of domestic Economy 7 electricity meters
Description Total number of domestic Economy 7 electricity meters.

A domestic Economy 7 electricity meter is a domestic meter with a tariff which charges a lower rate for electricity used overnight. Electricity used during the day is usually charged at a slightly higher rate than an ordinary domestic meter. Electricity suppliers provide Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) with address point data for each meter. The address point data is then used to match each Meter Point Administration Number (MPAN) to a local authority using the National Statistics Postcode Directory and the Postal Address File (PAF).
For domestic electricity consumption the data covers the months February to January (for example the 2020 electricity year was February 2020 to January 2021).
