Total domestic electricity used (GWh) | Local Authority | 2006

Title Gigawatt hours of all domestic electricity consumed
Description Gigawatt hours of all domestic electricity consumed.

Electricity suppliers provide Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) with annualised consumption data for each Meter Point Administration Number (MPAN) or electricity meter. The consumption data for each MPAN is not weather corrected and represents consumption covering the 365 days commencing 30th January each year. Annualised estimates are based on either an Annualised Advance (AA) or Estimated Annual Consumption (EAC). The AA is an estimate of annualised consumption based on consumption recorded between two meter readings at least 6 months apart, with the final reading occurring in the reference period. In comparison an EAC is used where two such meter readings are not available and an estimate of annualised consumption is produced by the energy company using historical information and the profile information relating to the meter.
For domestic electricity consumption the data covers the months February to January (for example the 2020 electricity year was February 2020 to January 2021).
