Percentage of people of retirement age (65 or over) usually resident in the area. The percentage of people is taken from the mid-year population estimates. These are estimates of the number of people who are usually resident in an area. These estimates are based upon the Census population figures.
Information on mid-year population estimates.
The 2020 mid-year population estimates cover 1 July 2019 to 30 June 2020 (this period covers the COVID-19 pandemic (March - June 2020). However, please use caution when interpreting the data as only some of the pandemic's impacts will be evident. More information can be found on the ONS website. |
