Title

Percentage of live single births that weigh less than 2.5 kg |
Description
Percentage of births that are singleton low birth weights is a Welsh Index of Multiple Deprivation (WIMD) indicator. Evidence suggests that low birth rate is linked to the mother’s lifestyle and health. Low birth rate can also cause problems for a baby in later life increasing the risk of chronic diseases. Data is a ten year average. Due to changes in underlying data sources and time needed to develop WIMD 2019, Welsh Government have suspended updates to WIMD indicators during 2018.
