.Working age is defined as people aged 16 to 64. People not in employment who want a job but are not classed as unemployed because they have either not sought work in the last four weeks or are not available to start work. Economically inactive people are neither in employment nor unemployed. This group includes, for example, all those who were looking after a home or retired. These estimates are taken from the annual population survey. The Annual Population Survey (including estimates of employment, unemployment and economic inactivity) estimates were revised in March 2015 back to 2004. This is to take on board population estimates based on the 2011 Census.
