% of adults who reported not doing any exercise or physical activity in the past week | Local Authority | 2009-2010

Title Percentage of adults who reported not doing any exercise or physical activity in the past week
Description Percentage of adults who reported not doing any exercise or physical activity in the past week. These local authority and local health board level tables are based on combined data from four survey years (2009-2012) - the larger sample size enables more detailed breakdowns to be produced, and these tables show key results by broad age groups for local authorities and health boards. The Welsh Health Survey children’s questionnaires ask about self-assessed general health and illnesses. The survey asked how much exercise children aged 4-15 had undertaken on each day in the last week. In the question, “exercise” referred to physical activity that left the child feeling warm or slightly out of breath. Respondents were asked to include exercise done at school and outside of school. Physical activity guidelines recommend that children should engage in moderate to vigorous intensity physical activity for at least 60 minutes every day.
